To benefit the Leather Archives & Museum through Bound South

FORT LAUDERDALE -- Bound South, a newly formed leather community service organization, invites donations of used leather gear for a sale and auction to be held on Labor Day. Proceeds benefit the group as it prepares for the first-ever "The Leather Masked Ball", the official leather event of this year's White Party Weekend. Proceeds from the Masked Ball will benefit the Leather Archives & Museum and Care Resource, South Florida's oldest and largest HIV/AIDS outreach agency.

Elements Bar, at 3073 NE 6th Avenue in Wilton Manors, hosts our Labor Day barbecue from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A 50/50 raffle will raise more funds for Bound South's work on "The Leather Masked Ball". That takes place on November 24th from 7:00 pm - 3:00 am at Steel Video Lounge and Dance Club in Fort Lauderdale (1951 NW Powerline Road). Admission to the barbecue is free; tickets to "The Masked Ball" range from $20-$35 and will soon go on sale at whiteparty.org. The Leather Masked Ball was created by Eric Lawrence, co-owner of Fort Lauderdale's premier leather store, LeatherWerks; and Ira C.Smith, renowned male erotic artist.

Anyone with leather items to donate for sale or auction by Bound South should take them to LeatherWerks at the Ramrod, (1508 NE 4th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale), or to LeatherWerks at 1226 NE 4th Avenue, three blocks south of Ramrod. LeatherWerks is open Monday-Saturday noon - 8:00 pm, and Sunday 1:00 - 6:00 pm. 100% of the revenues from the Labor Day sale & auction benefit Bound South's work for the leather community.

The Leather Archives & Museum, based in Chicago, works to preserve, catalogue and share the true stories of those who live the leather lifestyle. Through special programs, traveling exhibits and their year-round public museum displays, the Archives ensures that the history of the leather community is accessible to this and future generations.
